In this post, we’re tackling down a fairly new concept in the mindfulness world; affirmation cards!
We have already talked about affirmations quite a bit on this blog – I’ll link all of the helpful resources at the very end of this article – but we have never really breached this topic.
Affirmation cards are kind of a new item you can use in your daily routine, and in ways you might have not thought of before.
I promise you’ll quickly see the appeal in this practice, and it will become a staple in your daily routines. If you’d like to check out my collection immediately, you can click here!
So, are you ready to dive deep into the world of affirmation cards?
Let’s get started!
In simple terms, affirmation cards are a deck of cards with your favorite affirmations printed on. Super underwhealming, but that’s the gist of it!
You can usually find them in colorful formats packed with cute and fun drawings and designs, and they’re normally in a smaller, horizontal format.
Before I leave you to all the different ways you can play around with the cards, allow me to introduce you to my personal collection!
With a total of 100 affirmations ranging from success, to beauty, to goals and much more, these cards will be your #1 ally in your mindfulness journey.
Designed in a 8x13cm format, they’re perfect to be carried around pretty much anywhere, and used at any time. The color palette is a bright pastel one, with intricate and elegant golden designs woven through.
You can take a look at it here!
I have compiled a total of 11 ways for you to use them – if you have your own method, I definitely encourage you to share it in the comments!
This is a great place to keep your cards!
You can read them out before bed and right after you wake up, so that you can efficiently impact your subconscious with them. It’s also a good space to store them in order to keep your space nearer and to always know where they are.
If you’re unsure about meditation, or are simply looking for a new way to approach it, affirmation cards could be a good solution.
Simply pick a handful of them, or even just one, and repeat them for a couple of minutes while taking deep, purposeful breaths.
Journaling is not only an efficient way to deal with your emotions, but a good place to start your action plan towards your goals, too!
To use your affirmation cards as prompts, simply pick one and start writing down how that phrase makes you feel, how you can work towards making it more real for you, which actions you can take and so on. Take your time and actually reflect upon each sentence to make this excercise much more impactful.
Once you have your cards ready, you can pretty much use them anywhere you want – and that includes carrying them around!
I would recommend laminating them or using clear plastic covers to preserve their quality. Also, it would be ideal to store them in a small box if you do actually plan to carry them with you.
Sticking your affirmations on your mirror is a lovely way to infuse more mindfulness in your day to day life.
You can read them while doing your skin care, makeup and hair, when you’re brushing your teeth and so on. It might be a cliché coming-of-age movie move, but it’s truly a nice and effective method to use your cards!
If you truly don’t have the chance to use them while working, don’t sweat it – you’ll find another way to play around with them!
However, if you can, I do encourage you to whip them out. They’ll be your motivation boost!
This is a pretty inconspicuous place to stick your affirmations to, and it’s perfect if you’re trying to be more lowkey about displaying them.
If you’re trying to be more mindful of what you’re eating, there’s a lot of great affirmation cards you can use on your fridge in my collection!
This is a more spiritual way to approach these cards, but quite an interesting one nonetheless.
Simply shuffle your deck and randomly pick one card. The affirmation on it will be your theme for the day!
This is a similar concept to the previous one, and still quite a metaphysical one, if you will.
Shuffle your deck of affirmations while asking questions like ‘what do I need to hear now?’. The card that will pop up will be your answer!
The physical version of these cards is perfect to add to your vision board. Alternatively, if you’ve gone for a digital printable version (like mine), you can add them to your digital vision boards.
This way, you can use them as your PC, phone, tablet wallpapers!
Lastly, let’s talk about the most generous action of the bunch. Affirmation cards are an incredible gift idea for your loved ones, and a creative one!
You can download them, print them out and laminate them. It’s quite an inexpensive gift, and a super thoughtful one for any special occasion.
♡ Thank you so much for reading! I hope we kept each other company for a while. Have a wonderful day! ♡
