Hey, pretty people!

Following the Coronavirus outbreak, the only solution many of us are taking is staying home and protect ourselves and others.

To make this stay a lot more pleasurable, I got into my kitchen and started crafting things up.

After a whole lot of skincare, I decided to turn to makeup; however, this is where things got a little complicated. I did not want to use multiple products, and I apparently wasn’t able to come up with a valid item.

I started thinking about something I could craft with only 2 ingredients, 3 at max. And that’s when this product came up!

So, are you ready to find out how to make your own DIY Cream Highlighter?

Let’s get started!

YOU’LL NEED

  • A cheap lip balm, preferably flavorless and of a clear color
  • A shimmer eyeshadow you could use as highlighter; I am using a golden one from the Velvet Rose palette by Revolution
  • This is optional, but you could choose a specific container to put your final product in

Before jumping into the crafting process, I just wanted to spend a few words on the different containers you could choose.

SMALL DISCLAIMERS

If you were using a stick lip balm, you would find yourself with said container on hand. You could easily use that to store your cream highlighter!

I personally decided to use that very same container because I found the application to be more practical. On the other hand, feel free to use another packaging entirely.

Alright, let’s get crafting!

The first thing you want to do is take your entire lip balm out of its container and transfer it into a pot. Then, turn the stove on and allow the formula to melt completely.

While the lip balm is melting, break down your eyeshadow and turn it into a fine powder. You will need a little bit of patience to do so, and remember to be careful if you’re using knives and such!

Once the lip balm is almost completely liquid, toss the powder in and mix the two together. This step is going to take a little bit of time, so be sure to stir everything as well as you possibly can.

As soon as the balm and the eyeshadow are blended together perfectly, it’s time to take the product off the heat and pour it in your desired container. Then, place it in your fridge for a couple of hours, and allow it to solidify.

And your DIY Cream Highlighter is all ready to go!
