Hey, pretty people!

I know it may sound phishy, but crafting your DIY Makeup Setting Spray at home is a lot easier than what you may be thinking.

You will find a couple of other setting sprays (links at the end of the post), but I only recently started thinking about this one. Fun fact: it originated from a failed attempt at another project I had in mind.

I was already familiar with the base of the spray from my DIY Body Glow spray, and I was quite disappointed in myself for not noticing I literally had the easiest setting spray right in front of me!

Are you ready to find out how you can craft the perfect dewy setting spray?

Let’s get started!

YOU’LL NEED

  • A spray container
  • ½ cup of Distilled Water
  • 1 ½ Tablespoons of Baby Oil
  • 1 Vitamin E Oil tab (optional, but will preserve the life of the product and allow you to store it outside of the fridge)

SOME DISCLAIMERS

Before jumping into the project, let’s have a quick chat about the baby oil. It’s essentially the most important part of the spray, and also the one you can customize the most.

Personally, I like to use one that has aloe vera in it. This will not only add some dewiness to my makeup, but also make it last a whole lot longer!

Whichever baby oil you will pick will do the trick (set your makeup and fix powder problems), but I would whole-heartedly suggest to look for aloe vera in the ingredient list!

Ok, let’s get crafting!

If you are going to use a Vitamin E Oil tab (click here to find out more about this ingredient), you are going to need a separate bowl for mixing.

Pour the baby oil into the bowl and break the tab in it. Mixing the oils together first will ensure a somewhat better consistency of the spray, which is what we want.

It’s time to pour the water in and stir everything together once again. Know that these two ingredients won’t ever be completely and perfectly blended together, so just focus on bettering the consistency as much as you can.

Lastly, pour the liquid into the spray bottle and your makeup setting spray is all done! Remember to shake it well before using, though!
