DIY Face Masks are among the easiest DIY beauty recipes you could ever try to craft. You need very, very few ingredients to make a perfectly effective one, and you most likely already own all of them!
I like to go in my kitchen and get creative with different formulas. I think it’s a fun, original way to spend some of your free time, and it’s also a pretty entertaining activity you can do with your friends!
This DIY Face Mask was born on one of those trips to the kitchen.
This formula is made from only 3 simple ingredients; honey, coffee and lavender essential oil. It’s a pretty efficient combo to use in your skin care, and one you’ll have no problem replicating at home. You probably already own at least one of these ingredients, I’m willing to bet on that!
So, are you finally ready to find out how to make your own DIY Acne-Fighting and Pore Refining Face Mask?
Let’s get started!

Before jumping straight into crafting, let’s get up close and personal and find out something more about these ingredients – and what kind of benefits they can provide to your skin.
Honey is not a stranger when it comes to skincare; it’s actually one of the oldest DIY skin care remedies ever! It’s a great addition to your routine if you want to add moisture and glow to your complexion. Besides the obvious, this ingredient is also amazing when it comes to fighting acne and blemishes and clean pores. It’s truly a jack of all trades!
Coffee grounds, besides being the exfoliating base of the mask, are also a great help to fight acne and blemishes. They also help reducing dark circles and act as a soothing treatment for after-sun care. They won’t be too harsh on your skin, since the quantity is a little scarce; feel free to use even a little less than I wrote, if you feel like it’s too much for you.
Lastly, lavender essential oil. In this post I said that this is the best oil to invest in, mainly because it really does everything! If you need to add some moisture to the face, look no further than this ingredient. It’s a very powerful oil when it comes to fight acne, blemishes and redness, and also helps clean out pores.
Personally, I prefer to mix the honey and lavender oil together first.
Although these two ingredients aren’t exactly too similar in consistency, they can create the perfect hydrating base of this DIY Face Mask. By combining the two together first, it will be much easier to mix the coffee grounds later. More generally, it’s the best solution to ensure all of the ingredients will be perfectly blended later on.
Once you have your sticky, hydrating base ready, it’s time to add the coffee grounds to it. Take your time with this step, and make sure to mix all of the ingredients for (at least) a couple of minutes. I know it’s super annoying, but it’s the best solution if you want a nice, cohesive formula.
And your DIY acne-fighting, pore refining face mask is all ready to go!
All you have to do now is apply it to dry, clean skin.
Much like all the other face masks I own and make, I like to apply this one right after a shower. My pores will be still open, and I will be able to see some small results right away.
It’s also quite nice to keep that self-care momentum going!
