Moisturizing (in its general term) is not only the base of most beauty routines, but also the most important step to healthier skin and hair.
Don’t think that just because you have an oily skin/hair you can skip this step.
Moisturizing is the key to the most beautiful features ever, and that goes for hair, too.
Today we’ll be focusing on this amazing DIY Shine & Conditioning Hair Mask: it only takes 3 ingredients and 5 minutes to make.
Let’s get started!
1 Egg
Before jumping straight into the crafting process, let’s quickly talk about these ingredients and their benefits for your hair.
As weird as it may seem, an Egg actually has quite a few benefits when it comes to hair care! Packed with nutrients, it’s an amazing ingredient when it comes to making your hair healthier and thicker. It can also add shine and moisturize.
One of the most popular ingredients in hair care, Coconut Oil is perfect when it comes to hydrating both your locks and your scalp. It’s wonderful for treating dryness, as well as dullness. Also, it’s simply amazing when it comes to adding shine.
Lastly, let’s talk about Olive Oil. Easy and overall cheap to come by, olive oil is one of the most amazing moisturizing ingredients to add to this DIY Shine & Conditioning Hair Mask. Its nourishing properties will help you strengthen your hair, thus promoting a faster and healthier growth. Also, it’s quite good for adding shine and conditioning. You can check out this interesting article about its benefits, if you want!
The first thing I like to do is energetically whisk the egg in a bowl with a fork. You could also mix everything in a blender, but a fork will be just fine.
As soon as the consistency is almost perfectly liquid, add your melted coconut oil and then the olive oil. Continue to whisk until the consistency reaches an almost completely liquid consistency.
Apply to your hair (concentrating on the ends) and put a plastic wrap or shower cap on. Leave it on for 30 minutes and then proceed with your regular shampoo/conditioning routine.
Since this mask is a little bit heavier, I wouldn’t suggest you using it more than twice a week. However, if your hair is feeling particularly thirsty, you could easily use it more!
