Fall has been here for a little bit now, but let’s be real: the weather almost always takes a toll on our skin!
I have brought many different recipes for various skin needs, but something that I haven’t really focused on is lips. Sure, there are a couple DIYs for plumping and moisturizing them, but I have never posted something so specific for them.
If your lips are dry and chapped, this recipe is going to be your new go-to.
It’s simple and cheap to make, and you most likely already own all these ingredients!
So, are you ready to find out how to make your own ultra-moisturizing lip oil?
Let’s get started!

Like always, we are going to talk a little bit about these ingredients and their benefits in this recipe.
This is a pretty common skincare ingredient, and quite the versatile one. Also, it’s the base of this lip oil. This product is amazing when it comes to moisturizing chapped lips, and reducing fine lines as well. Moreover, it will leave them smelling (and tasting) sweeter than ever!
Honey is another ingredient that perfectly moisturizes your lips, and adds some nice glow to them as well. This oil won’t have a proper gloss consistency, but honey will definitely make it thicker and even more effective!
Lastly, Lavender Essential Oil. This is not only one of the most versatile and popular skincare ingredient out there, but also an essential one when it comes to skin, hair and lips health. Lavender essential oil is another amazing moisturizing element of this product, and can help reduce lines and wrinkles as well. In addition to that, it has a refreshing and soothing effect to it.
The first thing you want to do is mix the sweet almond oil and honey together. These ingredients don’t really have the same consistency, but they are somewhat similar. Stirring them together will ensure a better consistency of the product at the end of the crafting process, which is what we want.
Since we are already busy mixing the thicker and heavier parts of the lip oil, it would be the perfect time to toss the Vitamin E Oil tab in as well. I know it’s a very annoying step, but it’s an essential one: it would be ideal to stir the ingredients together for a couple of minutes at least, and double check if the mixture is smooth and perfect before proceeding.
Once you are satisfied with the consistency of this lip oil base, it’s time to add the essential oil drops and give the mixture a couple stirs more.
All you need to do now is pour it into the container you chose. And your DIY ultra moisturizing lip oil is all ready to go!

What is the shelf life for this product?
The Vitamin E Oil does help with its shelf life, but I recommend keeping a close eye on it and store it in a dry and cool place
Is the essential oil required
No, feel free to leave it out!
My grandchildren are addicted to lip balms. I have a couple that like to have a taste of something on theirs. What can I add to obtain that?
Hi, thank you so much for reading! The more I think about it, the more I believe that a sort of essence you can use in your food is the right answer; something like vanilla extract. You could try essential oils as well.
Let me know if you do end up trying one of those!
Sorry, but what, exactly, is a "Vitamin E Oil Tab," thank you?
