DIY 4-Ingredients (No Beeswax!) All-Natural Deodorant Stick

This DIY recipe is a little bit different than the ones you are used to see in this blog.
I am a big DIY skincare fan, but I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone a little bit more and try something new.
The idea of crafting up a DIY deodorant wasn’t exactly all that appealing to me at first, but I figured that the crafting process would be a fun way to spend a little bit of my time. So, why not?
What I enjoy about this product is that is made from simple ingredients you can easily have laying around in your kitchen, and doesn’t require beeswax! Ready to craft our DIY deodorant up?

YOU’LL NEED
- An empty deodorant stick (you could even do without, but let’s be real: why would you?)
- 1/2 cup of melted Coconut Oil
- 1/4 cup of Baking Soda
- 1/4 cup of Cornstarch
- 20 drops of Essential Oil (or more, if you’d like!)
- 1 tab (or 1 tsp) of Vitamin E Oil (optional)
THE CRAFTING PROCESS
I like to start off by mixing the two powders together.
I don’t really know why, I just feel like it helps the final mixing process. Also, I prefer to use a kitchen sieve to make sure the powders are very fine.
THE FRAGRANCE
While I’m doing this, I place the Coconut Oil in a microwave-safe bowl and melt it to a smooth liquid finish. As soon as I get the liquid out of the microwave and on my work space, I add the essential oil’s drops.
I used ‘Ocean Mist’ for this recipe, but feel free to pick whichever you like best or even mix two fragrances or more!
Since the base of our deodorant is still hot, I would suggest you to add the Vitamin E oil as well. I always add it to add a little bit of life span to my DIY products!
LASTLY
Now that you have a perfectly smooth liquid-y base, it’s time to add the powders and stir the mixture up as well as you can to create a seamless, smooth product.
Once you’ve done that and find yourself happy with the consistency, it’s time to pour it into the empty deodorant stick and let it solidify. You can place it in your fridge to speed up the process!
STORAGE
When it comes to storage, you have to keep in mind that this deodorant is made of Coconut Oil.
It’s amazing for moisturizing and keeping your skin healthy, but can also melt if the temperature is too hot!
Keeping it in your fridge will definitely help with that, as well as increasing the general life of the product. However, you can also keep it in a refreshed place – maybe even your bathroom – if you’ve added Vitamin E oil.
