Hey, pretty people!
I am actually pretty excited about this DIY Green Tea Spray, I’m not gonna lie!
I know I have brought quite a few DIY spray recipes on the blog, but this one just has something that tugs at my DIY skin care cords. It may be because it has green tea in it, which is an ingredient I absolutely adore!
Now, don’t be fooled by the title; you can use this product on your hair as well!
Sure, it does have incredible anti aging properties, but your hair would benefit from the use as well. I personally prefer to use it on wet hair right after a shower, but you can use it as a serum as well. A mask is also a suitable formula to experiment around with, too!
So, are you finally ready to find out how to make your DIY Green Tea Spray?
Let’s get started!

YOU’LL NEED
- 1 cup of Green Tea
- 1/2 teaspoon of Witch Hazel
- 1 teaspoon of Jojoba Oil
- 1 Vitamin E Oil tab
- 5 drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil
- 5 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
- An empty bottle
Before jumping into the crafting process, let’s do a quick run-down of these ingredients and their benefits for your skin.
GREEN TEA
Green Tea is not only a delicious beverage, but also a neat skincare ingredient! It will help prevent breakouts and fight acne, and help unclog pores. Moreover, this liquid will also promote healthier and glowing skin, all the while evening out the complexion.
WITCH HAZEL
Speaking of fighting inflammation, did you know Witch Hazel is quite the powerful ingredient when it comes to that? It can also help relieve itchiness and redness, and can fight acne as well. It is also used to make DIY Makeup Setting Sprays!
JOJOBA OIL
Jojoba oil, the base of our serum, is the best carrier oil for oily skin. Its texture is very similar to skin’s natural sebum. This makes it particularly good for oily complexions, since it provides hydration without leaving a greasy texture behind. Moreover, it’s perfect to fight acne and breakouts, as well as soothing more sensitive skin types.
TEA TREE ESSENTIAL OIL
Tea tree oil is probably one of the most common ingredients used to fight acne, but that’s not all it does! It’s an amazing addition to your serum if you aim at fighting texture and promote softer skin. Also, it’s great if you suffer from rosacea and irritated skin.
LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL
Lastly, lavender essential oil. Much like tea tree, this oil is great when it comes to fight acne, redness and general infections, all the while promoting softer and healthier skin.
VITAMIN E OIL
Lastly, a quick word on Vitamin E Oil. Even in such low quantity, this ingredient can help boost your hydration and helps fight and prevent aging signs. Moreover, and even most importantly, Vitamin E Oil is here to prevent your DIY Green Tea Spray from going bad. If you don’t plan on adding it, remember to store the product in your fridge.
Alright, let’s craft this DIY Green Tea Spray!
Firstly, you want to focus on making your green tea. Ironically, this is the most sensitive part of the whole tutorial!
Once your water is boiling, pour it in your cup and leave it there for 20 minutes. After that, once it has cooled down, you can add your green tea bag.
As soon as your liquid base is completely cool, you can add all the other ingredients and energically mix everything together.
You want to take your time with this step, as it’s essential that all the ingredients are blended together. It may be annoying, but I promise it’s actually crucial to the whole end result.
Lastly, once you’re satisfied with how the formula looks, it’s time to pour it into your chosen container – be it a spray bottle or any bottle.
And your DIY Green Tea Spray is all ready to go!
I would recommend storing it in your fridge at all times, even if you do end up adding the Vitamin E Oil tab.
