In the middle of winter, I am always looking for new DIY solutions to spice up my skincare routine. While I do this, I always try to keep the typical winter flavors there, so I can actually come up with an interesting product that’s out of the box.
This time, I am taking a spin on a favorite formula of mine: a face spray. Sure, I have brought a few recipes on the blog, but this one will be all about fruit peels and cinnamon; pretty interesting, right?
So, are you ready to find out how to make your own Apple, Cinnamon & Orange Peel Infused Water – and which benefits you can reap from it?
Let’s get started!
Before jumping into the crafting process, let’s quickly talk about these ingredients and their benefits for your skin.
Cinnamon is the perfect ingredient if you aim at efficiently moisturizing the skin and making your complexion glow. Moreover, this ingredient can help fight acne and breakouts, as well as reduce discoloration and promote an even skintone.
Packed with nutrients, Apple Peel is a pretty underrated ingredient when it comes to DIY skincare. For example, peels can strengthen the skin, and boost the production of new cells as well. Moreover, since it’s full of Vitamins, it’s perfect to maintain your skin nice and healthy.
Similarly to the previous ingredient, Orange Peel has quite a few benefits in store for your complexion’s health! For instance, it can help unclog pores and reduce acne and breakouts. Also, it can help reduce pigmentation and promote an even and glowing skintone. It’s also a natural cleanser and moisturizer!
Lastly, let’s quickly cover the Vitamin E Oil topic. In short, this ingredient is only here to make sure your face spray doesn’t go bad; therefore, if you don’t plan on adding it, make sure to store the product in your fridge.
Firstly, you want to heat up your water on the stove, and add the cinnamon stick, apple peel, orange peel and Vitamin E Oil tabs. You want to let the ingredients infuse for a couple of hours, keeping the heat at a minimum and a close eye on it.
Once a few hours have passed, it’s time to turn the heat off and strain the liquid, eliminating the peels and cinnamon sticks. Then, allow it to cool down for 15-20 minutes.
After that, stir everything together for at least a couple of minutes, to make sure the ingredients are well blended.
Lastly, pour the water into your spray bottle.
And your Apple, Cinnamon and Orange Peel Infused Water is all ready to go!
