Over the years, I have brought several DIY Lip products on my blog. From scrubs to masks, I really tried to spice up all of the formulas I have created and make the recipes as easy and cheap to craft as possible.

I have recently purchased an exfoliating lip mask from Essence. Needless to say, I have been obsessed with it ever since. Everything about the formula to the finish has me hooked, and I am finding myself quickly going through it!

 

Since I am burning through this formulation like nobody’s business, I have started thinking about how I could somewhat replicate it. And that’s exactly how this DIY Exfoliating Lip Mask was born!

This formulation is not only incredibly cheap to craft, but quite minimal as well. You’ll only need 2 ingredients, and you most likely already own them!

 

So, are you finally ready to find out how to make your very own DIY Exfoliating Lip Mask?

YOU’LL NEED

• 2 Tablespoons of Sugar (whichever kind you prefer)
• 1 teaspoon of Vaseline
• A bowl and a spoon
• A container of choice

 

DISCLAIMERS

When it comes to the sugar, I would recommend going for one that has slightly bigger crystals. You don’t necessarily have to pick brown sugar – just make sure the crystals of the sugar you do end up choosing aren’t too fine.

This will provide a much better exfoliating experience, whereas finer granules wouldn’t really do the trick properly.

 

 

Alright, let’s get crafting!

There really isn’t much to this crafting process; you simply want to combine both ingredients together in a bowl, and take your time with it.

As annoying as it may be, you want the Vaseline and sugar to be perfectly blended together. That is why you want to keep going for (at least) a couple of minutes.

Once you feel satisfied with the smooth consistency you have reached, it’s time to pour the mixture into your desired container.

And your DIY Exfoliating Lip Mask is all ready to go!

 

 

ABOUT THE APPLICATION

My preferred method of applying is to leave it on for 20 minutes, then scrub my lips with it and wash it off. I usually apply it when I have a face mask on, so I am sure about timing!
