Eye patches are one of my favorite skin care products, and you’re probably on my side on this one.
I personally enjoy applying them during a nice movie night, and use a roll over them to make sure all the juices are on my skin. It’s also a nice way to refresh my under eye area!
These DIY eye patches are not only insanely easy to create, but quite cheap as well.
This particular version features chamomile tea, which happens to be one of my favorite ingredients when it comes to skin care. However, you can use whichever tea, oil, or anything really, that you personally enjoy: green tea, coconut oil and so on.
So, are you ready to find out how to make your own DIY eye patches at home?
Let’s get started!
Before jumping straight into the crafting process, let’s talk some ingredients you can use to craft the perfect patches for your under eye area!
The ingredient I use most often, and the one I decided to pick for this recipe.
It’s full of anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that can help treat and fade scars, wounds and acne, and promote a healthier-looking complexion. Moreover, it promotes a more even skintone and can reduce the appearance of under-eye circles and puffiness.
Green Tea is not only a delicious beverage, but also a neat skincare ingredient! It will help prevent breakouts and fight acne, and help unclog pores. Moreover, this liquid will also promote healthier and glowing skin, all the while evening out the complexion.
Aloe Vera is a pretty common skincare ingredient, and has a wide variety of benefits. It is a wonderful moisturizer, and helps fight acne and blemishes. Also, it may help controlling and preventing breakouts. Moreover, it will help reduce texture and shrink pores.
This crafting process is going to be quite easy and quick, which I’m sure you’ll appreciate!
Firstly, you want to cut your makeup remover pad in half. You’ll notice right away that this will create the perfect shape for your DIY eye patches!
Once you have put your pads in your pre-selected container or plate, it’s time to brew your tea.
Allow the water to boil, then pour it in your mug over the tea bag. Let it infuse for up to 4 minutes, than take the bag out.
Pour the liquid over the pads, just enough to soak each one idividually. You don’t need to have them float; just make sure each one is covered and there’s no excess liquid in your container.
Next, pop them in the fridge for at least a couple of hours. Ideally, you could prepare them in the morning so they’ll be ready to go by the time you get home from school or work!
Before you apply them, make sure to gently squeeze out all the excess liquid from them.
And your DIY eye patches are all ready to go!
