Sensitive skin is no joke, especially when it comes to the natural skincare experience. It is so difficult to find something that works, it can seem downright impossible.
That’s not the case with this DIY Gentle Exfoliator, thankfully! It’s an easy to create formula that aims at soothing your skin in the first place, all the while providing a gentle exfoliation and a thorough hydration.
This formula is a true ‘back to basics’ for me, and I am pretty proud of it! It’s made from only 3 ingredients, and they’re the ones sensitive skin types tolerate best: Aloe Vera, chamomile tea and rose water. The best part about it is that they’re all quite cheap and easy to come by!
The crafting process will take you less than 10 minutes, and I am sure the results will blow you away. You’ll quickly become addicted to this!
So, are you ready to find out how to make your own DIY Gentle Exfoliator?
Let’s get started!
Before jumping into the crafting process, let’s quickly talk about these ingredients and a few of their benefits.
Aloe Vera Gel is one of the most popular after-sun care in the natural department, and a great addition to this DIY Gentle Exfoliator. This ingredient is perfect to gently moisturize your skin, and also has an amazing healing power. In fact, it can help with wounds, cuts and burns. Moreover, it can help reduce dark spots and enhance your natural complexion.
The real definition of ‘gentle’, Chamomile Tea is yet another ingredient that will make your skin nice and healthy. It is perfect to fade dark spots and fight hyperpigmentation, as well as generally enhance your natural complexion. Besides, it is packed with anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, which can help the skin heal from damages, cuts and wounds.
Rose Water is a great natural ingredient that’s more than perfect to fight inflammation, irritation and redness. Its cleansing properties are perfect to remove dirt and also build-up from the skin, as well reduce acne and possibly control breakouts. In addition, this ingredient is perfect to control your natural oil production, keeping oily skin at bay.
Firstly, let’s focus on making the chamomile tea. Let the bag infuse into the hot water for 5 minutes, then take it out and allow the liquid to cool down for 20 minutes. Once the bag has cooled down, carefully extract the leaves; they are the base of your gentle exfoliator!
Once your chamomile tea is cool and ready, it’s time to add it to the rose water and make your liquid base; then, add this liquid base to the aloe vera gel.
Lastly, add the chamomile tea leaves and stir everything for a couple of minutes.
And your DIY Gentle Exfoliator is all ready to go!
