Since we’re still in the middle of winter, I thought about bringing our favorite hot drinks into our skincare routines.
The weather sometimes takes a toll on our skin, so we should try and fight it in the most delicious way possible!
I have brought a few DIY face masks on the blog lately, all inspired by hot cocoa and other delightful winter drinks; this time, is all about Golden Milk.
This is the ultimate winter spicey beverage, and will definitely kick your skincare routine up a notch.
So, are you ready to find out how to make this DIY Golden Milk face mask – and what its benefits are?
Let’s find out!
Before jumping into the crafting process, let’s talk a little bit about these ingredients and their benefits for your skin.
Milk is a recurrent ingredient in my Winter-Inspired DIY recipes, and has a few interesting benefits for your skin. For starters, milk has great moisturizing properties, and can help efficiently cleanse the skin and promote a clear and healthy complexion; also, it can help fight acne and blemishes.
Turmeric Powder is a new-entry in my DIY skincare products, and is full of anti-inflammatory properties. This means it will work great to fight acne and pimples, and control breakouts as well. Also, it is perfect to brighten up the skin and promote a more even skintone; it will moisturize the skin as well!
Cinnamon is the perfect ingredient if you aim at efficiently moisturizing the skin and making your complexion glow. Moreover, this ingredient can help fight acne and breakouts, as well as reduce discoloration and promote an even skintone.
I am sure some of you probably widened your eyes when you saw Cornstarch as part of this moisturizer! Actually, it plays a key role in this whipped moisturizer; in fact, cornstarch will help the milk thicken up and get ready for whipping.
The first thing you want to do is mix your Turmeric and Cinnamon powders together, and set them aside for later; then, start heating up your Milk.
Once it starts getting quite warm, it’s time to add the powders in and stir everything together. Continue heating up the milk until it reaches quite a hot point, then add the cornstarch. Keep mixing until the mixture has thickened up.
All you have to do now is allow the mixture to cool down for a couple of minutes.
And your DIY Golden Milk Face Mask is all ready to go!
