Do you want to literally glow up overnight using the Light Feminine method? Click here!
I have already brought a couple of DIY Lush Copycat recipes, but this is one of the most exciting for me!
Grease Lightning is one of their most popular products when it comes to acne and oily skin, and I was beyond curious to find out if I could make some kind of similar alternative.
Turns out, you actually can craft a product that comes pretty close to the original one!
This gel is kind of similar to my Acne Gel recipe, but features quite a few different ingredients. Also, I’ll have you know that this consistency isn’t exactly as creamy as the original one.
That being said, the results still are pretty impressive!
So, are you ready to find out how to make your own DIY Grease Lightning?
Let’s get started!
Before jumping into the crafting process, I just wanted to talk a little bit about these ingredients and clarify a few things.
Aloe Vera Gel is quite the popular skincare choice nowadays, and can offer your skin quite a few interesting benefits. For instance, this gel can give you a real boost of moisture, while helping fight acne and blemishes. Also, it can help reduce texture and inflammation.
Speaking of fighting inflammation, did you know Witch Hazel is quite the powerful ingredient when it comes to that? It can also help relieve itchiness and redness, and can fight acne as well. It is also used to make DIY Makeup Setting Sprays!
Scrolling through the ingredients, you may have been slightly dumbfounded when coming across Rosemary and Thyme Infused Water. This is no super expensive, high-end quality of water, don’t worry. In fact, you’ll be able to make it yourself in just a couple of minutes! You will only need to let a pot of water reach a boiling point, then turn the heat off and allow the leaves to infuse into it as long as the water doesn’t cool down completely. If you don’t feel like using leaves, switch it up with essential oil. 10 drops of each should be just fine. This infused water will help your skin fight acne and blemishes, and promote a much clearer and healthier complexion.
Tea Tree Essential Oil is yet another powerful ingredient when it comes to fighting acne and keeping breakouts at bay. Moreover, it will help reduce texture, redness and inflammation.
Lastly, let’s talk about Lavender Essential Oil. It is one of the most popular essential oils out there, and can give you a whole lot of different benefits in just a couple of drops. In fact, this liquid can help fight acne and blemishes, as well as reduce texture. Moreover, it will help fight inflammation and redness. It’s also quite the powerful moisturizer!
Firstly, you want to prepare your infused water; fill a small pot with water, and heat it up on the stove.
Once it reaches a boiling point, throw your rosemary and thyme leaves in and turn the heat off. Allow the liquid to cool down completely, then strain it a couple of times to remove the leaves. If you decided to work with essential oils instead, just mix the drops into the cold water.
Secondly, mix the aloe vera gel and witch hazel together; as soon as the consistency becomes more cohesive, add the water. Then, add the essential oils drops and stir all the ingredients together for a couple of minutes.
Lastly, pour the mixture into the desired container.
And your DIY Grease Lightning Lush Copycat is all ready to go!
