I have been playing around with hair masks lately, and this recipe seemed to be the one I kept on using.
Featuring a total of 4 cheap and effective ingredients, this DIY hair mask is an easy and quick fix for many problems, like dandruff and scalp issues.
This product takes only a couple of minutes to craft, and you’ll start seeing some results right after your first use.
Are you ready to find out what’s so amazing about it?
Let’s get started!
I know that these quantities may seem like a lot, but trust me; they will cover your scalp and hair just perfectly.
Ok, let’s see what this mask can offer you by examining every single one of these ingredients.
Aloe vera gel is one of the most popular ingredients for both skin and haircare, and for good reason! This gel is a perfect mild exfoliator, which comes in handy when it comes to removing dead skin cells from your scalp and thus promoting hair growth. Moreover, it adds shine and moisture to the hair without being too heavy or resulting in a greasy mess. It also fights dandruff and promotes lightweight and fluffy hair.
Coconut oil is another pretty versatile ingredient in hair and skincare, mostly used to add moisture and keeping the hair smooth and shiny. Once it’s paired with aloe vera, all its properties are maximized!
Lavender and Tea Tree oils are light and fun add-ins of the product. You don’t have to put them in, but they do add a bit of strength to the product. They both have a shine element to them, but also help maintain your scalp healthy and your hair smooth.
The first thing you want to do is melt your coconut oil completely. It only takes a minute, and it’s a step you don’t want to skip.
As soon as you have a clear and smooth liquid, it’s time to add your essential oil drops to it.
Give the liquids a couple of stirs to make sure they’re all combined, and set the mixture aside.
Once you’re happy with the liquid part of the mask, it’s time to add the aloe vera gel to it. You will never have a completely smooth and cohesive formula, but keep mixing it for a couple of minutes nonetheless.
Before applying the mask to the hair, make sure to brush it a bit. You’ll ensure the formula spreads better, and it will be easier to massage on the scalp as well.
Leave the mixture on for 15-20 minutes, then proceed with your regular shampoo and conditioning routine.
This hair mask is super lightweight, and you’ll feel it as soon as the hair is dry; you’ll see much more shine, and a lot less dandruff!
