Do you want to literally glow up overnight using the Light Feminine method? Click here!
Hey, pretty people!
I have posted a fairly similar recipe recently, bringing a copycat recipe of the Honey I Washed The Kids body spray by Lush. In that post, I had said I was trying to come up with the perfect recipe for the body wash version; well, looks like I finally did!
This recipe hasn’t really been all that easy to come up with, mainly because of the quantities used.
There has been some trial errors, but I am satisfied with this final form. It is the perfect fruit-flavored product for summer, and will leave you smelling like the sweetest treat to ever exist!
So, are you ready to find out how to make your own DIY Lush Honey I Washed The Kids body wash?
Let’s get started!
YOU’LL NEED
- 2/3 cups of Castile Soap
- 1/3 cup of Honey
- 3 Tablespoons of Rosehip Oil
- 15 drops of Orange Essential Oil
- 15 drops of Bergamot Essential Oil
- 5 drops of Lemon Essential Oil
- 1-2 Vitamin E Oil tab(s)
Before jumping into the crafting process, let’s quickly talk about these ingredients and some of their benefits for your skin.
ROSEHIP OIL
One of the most hydrating products out there (and also my mom’s favorite), Rosehip Oil is perfect not only to moisturize your skin, but fight aging signs as well. Packed with antibacterial properties, this liquid is perfect to fight annoying issues like razors bumps and such. Also, it may help reduce the appearance of stretch marks.
HONEY
Honey is quite the powerful antiseptic ingredient, and one of my all time favorites when it comes to skincare in general. It can help enhance your complexion and boost your glow, as well as fight acne and blemishes. Moreover, it can help cleanse the skin.
ORANGE ESSENTIAL OIL
Orange Essential Oil is a popular citrus-y flavor, and it’s packed with interesting benefits for your skin. For starters, it promotes a brighter and more even complexion, while boosting the skin’s natural collagen production. In addition, it is a great help when it comes to fighting acne and blemishes.
LEMON ESSENTIAL OIL
Lemon Essential Oil is yet another citrus-flavored liquid perfect for your skincare. It is perfect to detoxify the skin and promote a much healthier complexion, fighting acne and discoloration. It is also a perfect ingredient to keep excessive oil production at bay, and generally cleanse the skin as well.
BERGAMOT ESSENTIAL OIL
Let’s close the citrus part of this spray with Bergamot Essential Oil. This liquid is yet another cleansing and detoxifying element of this product, effectively promoting the skin’s health. It can help nourish and plump the complexion, as well as fight acne and unclog pores.
VITAMIN E OIL
Lastly, let’s spend a couple of words on Vitamin E Oil. This ingredient is here to make sure you can safely store your Honey I Washed The Kids body wash outside of the fridge without it going bad. If you don’t plan on adding it, make sure to store the product in your fridge at all times! Also, even if you do add it, keep a close eye on it either way.
Alright, let’s get crafting!
Firstly, add the rosehip oil to the honey. These two consistency aren’t really the exact same, but mixing the two together could ensure a smoother final product. The final result here should look like a slightly liquid paste.
Secondly, add this honey paste to the castile soap. Then, add all the other ingredients and stir them together for a couple of minutes – at least.
You want your body wash to be completely smooth and with a cohesive consistency, which is why under-mixing it is a very bad idea. This process is a super annoying one, but hopefully will help you build some sort of patience skills!
Lastly, pour the product in your desired container.
And your DIY Lush Honey I Washed The Kids body wash is all ready to go!
