Do you want to literally glow up overnight using the Light Feminine method? Click here!
There are quite a few different DIY haircare recipes on my blog, but I have never really sat down and tried to make a copycat recipe.
I posted a somewhat similar recipe a little while ago, and it was all about a shampoo for blonde hair. Now, that particular recipe wasn’t specifically made for blonde hair, but rather lightening in general.
This mask has quickly become one of my top favorites, and can act as a nice overnight treatment as well.
It’s the perfect quick recipe to make if you want to treat yourself on a sunday afternoon, and a cheap one as well.
So, are you ready to find out how to make your own DIY Lush Marilyn Hair Treatment Copycat?
Let’s get started!
Before jumping into the crafting process, let’s talk about these ingredients and their benefits for your hair.
Coconut Oil is a fairly popular natural ingredient when it comes to both haircare and skincare, and it’s an overall cheap one to come by. It’s one of the best moisturizing elements this hair treatment could ask for, and a good choice if you aim at adding shine to the hair. Also, it can help prevent split ends and breakages, as well as promote hair growth. Moreover, it helps soften the hair a great deal.
Chamomile Tea may seem like a weird choice here, but it’s a great ingredient when it comes to hair health. It will promote a healthier growth, as well as add shine and fight a potentially dry and itchy scalp. Also, it’s a natural hair lightener – perfect for your highlights!
Besides being another lightening ingredient of this Lush Marilyn Hair Treatment, Lemon Juice is a good ingredient to boost your natural hair growth. It can help detox the scalp maintaining it healthy, and control its natural oil production – making it a good choice for people with oily hair.
Yet another moisturizing element of this hair treatment, Honey can help condition your hair in the most efficient way possible; it will help with breakage and split ends, and will enhance your natural reflexes effortelessly.
Lastly, I wanted to spend a few words on Chamomile Essential Oil. This is a totally optional ingredient, but I like to add a few drops anyway. It can help add shine and softness to the hair, and is another way to enrich your natural hair color and radiance.
The first thing you want to do is melt your coconut oil completely. You want it to reach the perfect liquid consistency, so make sure to stir it from time to time and eliminate all the lumps.
Once you have your liquid ready, it’s time to whip it up; you want that fluffy, creamy consistency, so keep going for a couple of minutes. While you’re whipping the coconut oil, gradually add the essential oil drops if you’d like.
As soon as you have your fluffy oil, add all the other ingredients. I would recommend slightly melting your honey in the microwave for 30 seconds or less. This helps making its consistency more liquid, thus easier to blend with the other ingredients.
Once you have all the ingredients together, you want to gently stir all of them together for at least a couple of minutes.
And your DIY Lush Marilyn Hair Treatment is all ready to go!
When it comes to application, I would say it’s all up to you; my mom tried it overnight and loved it, and I tried it for 30 minutes and adored it as well.
If you have oily hair like me, I would recommend to leave it between 30 minutes to an hour; on the other hand, if you have dry hair, feel free to try the overnight option!
