I will say, I am currently living through my second favorite season: Winter!
These cold months are the perfect excuse to curl up into your sofa with the softest blanket you can find, reading your favorite book or watching your favorite shows. A tasty drink to wash it all down might be nice as well. There is plenty to love about this season!
However, all that glitters is not gold – especially when it comes to caring for our skin.
In fact, Winter can be a bit of a harsh season for our skin.
The cold and humidity can easily dry out your skin, and it can be a bit tricky to find the perfect solution to navigate through that. And that’s where this DIY face mask comes in!
It’s an easy DIY beauty recipe to try out. It features only 3 ingredients, and the overall crafting process will take you less than 10 minutes. Less than 5, even!
This DIY Exfoliating & Toning mask is fairly easy and quick to make, and the best part is that you most likely already own all the ingredients required. Ready to find out which ones?
Let’s get started!
Before jumping straight into the crafting process, let’s quickly talk about these ingredients and their benefits for your skin.
Baking Soda is the real exfoliating element here, although a mild one. It is perfect to fight acne and pimples, as well as keep excess oil production at bay; also, its antibacterial properties can help prevent future breakouts.
Rose water is frankly one of the most underrated skincare products out there. It can be used on any skin type, even more sensitive ones. It’s a natural toner, meaning it will help re-establishing the skin’s natural pH balance and oil production. Moreover, it’s full of antioxidants that help heal and strengthen the tissues. It can help clean and reduce the appearance of pores as well!
Honey is a natural antiseptic, meaning it can help fight acne and blemishes like nobody’s business; moreover, it can help effectively cleanse pores and remove dirt and build-up in general. This ingredient is an amazing all-natural moisturizer, making your skin much plumper and hydrated right away. Also, it can help boost your glow and brighten the skintone!
I personally prefer to mix rose water and honey together first, since they have a somewhat similar consistency; it makes it easier for me to assemble the product, but feel free to procede however you prefer.
Lastly, I add the baking soda and mix everything together once more. Make sure to keep going for a couple of minutes, so you’ll know that the ingredients really got to know each other.
As soon as the consistency and texture seem cohesive (like a paste), you can stop mixing.
And your DIY Exfoliating & Toning mask is all ready to go!
