A little while back, I blogged about rice water in an article in which I shared my experience trying it out for an entire week.
I will say I grew rather fond of it, especially after seeing its benefits on my skin’s texture. I definitely found it the best natural ingredient to target that issue, and I really wanted to use it more.
Besides texture, this face serum is perfect to target a possible excessive oil production. It will possibly take longer to see an actual tangible difference, but with consistency you’ll see your complexion tranformed.
Another detail I loved about rice water is how effective it is when it comes to brightening the skin. Thankfully, this benefit is going to show up a lot quicker than oil control!
So, are you ready to find out how to make your own DIY Rice Water Face Serum?
Let’s get started!
Before jumping into the crafting process, let’s talk a bit about these ingredients and a few of their benefits for your skin.
Aloe Vera Gel is a recurrent ingredient in my DIY skincare formulas, and a generally popular one. It can help gently moisturize and exfoliate the complexion, all the while fighting acne and keeping breakouts at bay. Also, it can help reduce the size of your pores. If you’d rather use Aloe Vera Oil, here are all the directions you’ll need to make it yourself! I personally decided to use the oil, because it was a lot easier to mix with the other ingredients.
Packed with vitamins and minerals, Rice Water is a great ingredient when it comes to promoting your skin’s health. In fact, this liquid is perfect to fight texture and gently exfoliate your skin, thus making it plumper and softer. Moreover, it can help your skin’s natural oil production and make your complexion brighter.
Lastly, let’s spend a few words on Vitamin E Oil. This ingredient is here to make sure you can safely store your violet infused water serum outside of the fridge without it going bad. You could easily omit it altogether, but make sure to store the product into the fridge after every use. Even if you do end up adding it, make sure to keep a close eye on it either way!
Firstly, let’s focus on making rice water; this process is going to take half an hour, so make sure to be patient.
Wash 1/2 cup of rice a couple of times, then soak it in 2 cups of water for 30 minutes. Lastly, sift the rice out. And your rice water is ready!
Now that you have this liquid, mix it with the aloe vera gel/oil and Vitamin E Oil, trying to reach the smoothest consistency possible. It’s going to take a lot of stirring, but keep going!
Lastly, now that your formula is nice and smooth, pour it in the empty serum bottle.
And your DIY Rice Water Face Serum is all ready to go!
