Do you want to literally glow up overnight using the Light Feminine method? Click here!
Hey, pretty people!
I know, I know – yet another water serum formula. This is not the newest format here on my blog, but I am so into this formulation I can’t help but to craft more!
I find this serum to be perfect if you prefer lighter solution for your skin, and don’t really feel comfortable with ‘heavy-duty’ stuff. Also, it is fairly cheap to craft!
This DIY Skin Brightening serum is packed with natural Vitamin C, which is vital to achieve a clear and bright complexion. Moreover, it is a great way to gently hydrate your skin without layering too many products on it.
These ingredients are all simple and cheap to come by, and the entire crafting process is a super simple one. You most likely already own everything needed here!
So, are you ready to find out how to make your own DIY Skin Brightening serum?
Let’s get started!
YOU’LL NEED
- 2 teaspoons of Aloe Vera Gel or Aloe Vera Oil
- 2 tespoons of Lemon Peel-Infused Water
- 1 teaspoon of Chamomile Tea with Honey
- 1-2 Vitamin E Oil tab(s)
- An empty serum bottle
Before jumping straight into the crafting process, let’s talk about these ingredients and a few of their benefits for your skin.
ALOE VERA GEL
Aloe Vera Gel is a recurrent ingredient in my DIY skincare formulas, and a generally popular one. It can help gently moisturize and exfoliate the complexion, all the while fighting acne and keeping breakouts at bay; also, it can help reduce the size of your pores. If you’d rather use Aloe Vera Oil, here are all the directions you’ll need to make it yourself! I personally decided to use the oil, because it was a lot easier to mix with the other ingredients.
LEMON PEEL
Lemon Peel is wonderfully packed with calcium, as well as Vitamin C; both of these elements are essential to brightening the complexion, and also fight issues like hyperpigmentation and dark spots. Moreover, this ingredient is rich in antioxidants too, which are essential to the skin’s health; it may help with acne and breakouts, too.
CHAMOMILE TEA
Chamomile Tea is a super gentle ingredient for your skin, and yet another one that will brighten up your skintone – as well as fight discoloration and hyperpigmentation. It is perfect to treat acne and irritation, and also a good natural choice to treat redness and inflammation.
HONEY
A natural antiseptic, Honey is the go-to ingredient when it comes to healthy, glowing skin. Full of hydrating properties, this ingredient will help you fight acne and imperfections, promoting a healthier and clearer complexion; moreover, it will help enhance your natural skintone fighting hyperpigmentation and discoloration.
VITAMIN E OIL
Lastly, let’s spend a few words on Vitamin E Oil. This ingredient is here to make sure you can safely store your citrus water serum outside of the fridge without it going bad; you could easily omit it altogether, but make sure to store the product into the fridge after every use. Even if you do end up adding it, make sure to keep a close eye on it either way!
Alright, let’s get crafting!
Firstly, you want to make your lemon peel-infused water; make sure to wash the lemon beforehand. Once you have your peels ready, let them infuse into the water for a couple of hours at least, then sift the liquid to eliminate all the residues.
While you’re waiting for your infused water, it would be great to make your chamomile tea; allow the bag to infuse into the water for 5 minutes, then take it out and let the liquid cool down for 20 minutes before adding the honey.
As soon as your liquids are all ready, it’s time to add them to the aloe vera gel/oil and Vitamin E Oil. It’s going to be quite annoying to stir everything to create the perfectly smooth consistency, but try and keep going.
Lastly, now that your serum is all nice, liquid and smooth, it’s time to pour it into your empty serum bottle.
And your DIY Skin Brightening Serum is all ready to go!
