I feel like we all collectively have a weird relationship with glow up content.
On one hand, we see it as something that can allow us to become the best version of ourselves. On the other, they can easily be used to promote an unrealistic standar for both beauty and lifestyle.
Although both sides are completely valid, the aim of all of my Glow Up articles (and this one as well, of course) is to offer you an interesting way to challenge yourself and step out of your comfort zone.
This is a collection of tips, tricks, advices and practices that will help you glow up inside and out in just 2 weeks.
This can be viewed as a longer stretch of time, and you can easily check out all the other posts of this series if you want something more of a ‘quick fix’. On the other hand, if you feel up for the challenge, keep on reading!
So, are you ready to find out how to glow up in 2 weeks?
Let’s get started!
A small disclaimer is due here – feel free to skip it to avoid a little bit of cheesiness!
This article is in no way, shape or form an attack towards your beauty or your individuality. I am not trying to suggest there’s something wrong with you, or something that you need to change.
This post is a mere challenge to push yourself to try something new, and possibly finding new ways to take care of yourself. Nothing more!
If you’re already a regular at the gym, or like to dabble in workouts at home, you’re good to go. On the other hand, if you’d like to start, let me give you a word of advice.
In case you’re open to going to the gym, you definitely should. There’s plenty of experts that can help you achieve your goals safely and effeciently, and it’s a great approach! However, if you don’t feel like that’s your cup of tea, head over to YouTube; it’s full of fun workouts for every level, and you can follow them from the comfort of your home.
If you don’t really have time to workout, do not underestimate the power of chores! Moving around to clean and cook is already a small workout in itself, and a great way to get started when it comes to moving more.
Some of my favorite YouTube workout channels:
Taking care of the way you eat ensures your body and mind have all the proper nutrients to keep functioning properly.
If you can, focus on eating foods like fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins. Some popular superfoods include berries, leafy greens, nuts, seeds, and fatty fish. By adding these nutrient-rich foods to your meals and snacks, you can fuel your body with the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants it needs to thrive!
Are you hydrating yourself in the best way possible? Not drinking enough can lead to problems like bad sleep patterns and bad digestion, just to name a few.
One way to motivate yourself to drink more water is to invest in a cute bottle! I have done this, and I can confirm that keeping myself hydrated has been a whole of a lot easier.
Sleep is essential for your overall well-being, helping to rejuvenate your body and mind. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night to improve your focus, mood, and energy levels.
By prioritizing rest, you can enhance your glow-up journey both physically and mentally.
After you have identified which type of skin you have, it’s time to think about products. If you’re a total newbie, you’ll be pleased to know that all you really need to do is cleansing, toning and moisturizing – plus, using spf in the morning. That’s literally it!
I’ll give you a couple of personal favorite recommendations, but feel free to drop yours in the comments!
Mindfulness involves focusing on the present moment without judgment, allowing you to tune into your thoughts and emotions with awareness.
By practicing mindfulness each day, whether through meditation, deep breathing exercises, or simply taking moments to pause and reflect, you can reduce stress, improve your mental clarity, and enhance your overall well-being.
This intentional practice can help you cultivate a sense of peace and calm amidst life’s challenges, setting the stage for a more radiant glow-up inside and out!
Even if it’s just 5 minutes a day, do try to give yourself time to do some self-care.
It can be as simple as enjoying a cup of coffee or tea while reading a chapter of a book, or even watch an episode of your favorite show. Whatever it is, make sure to be intentional with the way you spend that time!
Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone is the best way to grow and develop as a person, although it’s definitely an intimidating practice.
It can be something simple like changing up your coffee order, or going to a different shop, or trying a new meal. It might look small at first, but the more you do it, the more courage you’ll build to go even further!
If you’re worried I’m going to tell you to ditch your phone for the entire weekend, fear not! I am well aware of the necessity to bring it around with you, and I think that completely forgetting about it is a little irresponsible.
A break from technology and social media can look like an hour of detox before going to sleep, or even more if you can. That’s a great option to start!
If you’re someone who works with computers and phones often, make sure to take frequent breaks throughout the day.
♡ Thank you so much for reading! I hope we kept each other company for a while. Have a wonderful day! ♡
