Hey, pretty people!

I have recently published my article on How To Create Your Own Affirmations, and ever since that I have been getting a lot of more questions about affirmations. Specifically, how to make more believable ones.

Many of the people who reached out to me brought the example of subliminals, which is a fairly classic, and also common, one.

A lot of audio affirmations seem to feature outlandish sentences, with many stretches of time that seem unbelievable to the users.

Now, there really isn’t anything bad or weird about this fact, I just want to point this out. However, if you were to make simple affirmations for yourself, you may want to take a different approach.

So, are you ready to find out how to make believable affirmations for yourself?

Let’s get started!

AN IMPORTANT PREMISE

Before we jump into the actual ‘crafting process’, there is something you definitely want to understand.

Like we said in the intro, there isn’t anything wrong with stretched, almost unbelievable affirmations.

In fact, if you think they are so outlandish your subconscious won’t pick them up, guess what? That’s nothing more than a limiting belief.

If you have read a few of my mindset posts before, you’ll know that almost anything you believe in is a limiting belief. Every single one of those will be linked at the very end of the article, don’t worry.

Anyways, to make a long story short: if you’re into the ideas that certain words (like ‘no, free, without, immune, instantly’) or need to listen/affirm for a certain amount of time, you’re just filling your mind with limiting beliefs. Those notions aren’t true unless you decide to give them the power to be. In fact, they are only real if you believe them to be.

I just wanted to point this out for anyone who seemed somewhat concerned about this topic. There has been so much disinformation about affirmations and manifesting lately, I really wanted to shed some light on this.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR AFFIRMATIONS

Before jumping into the believable aspect, we firstly need to find out which affirmations we want to write. You will find the same process in my The Dos and Don’ts of Creating Your Own Affirmations. I would highly recommend checking it out, since I have addressed more limiting beliefs there, too.

Firstly, you want to focus on the aspects of your life you are interested in improving. Again, we are going to pick the example of organization as a ‘macro-category’.

Let’s say you wanted to become more organized; a simple affirmation could be ‘I am an organized person. I am the most organized person. I have always been an organized person’.

That’s all you need to know for now, so sit down, get comfortable and write down all of your affirmations. Take your time and don’t rush through anything!

THE BELIEVABLE ASPECT

Now that your affirmations are ready, you still may be thinking ‘this is too hard, they do not represent who I have been until now, they’re not real‘. Take a deep breath, and realize that those are nothing more than limiting beliefs.

The believable element is something that is inherently true about yourself, and can be literally anything. Anything from a physical feature to where you go to school or work, for example.

The most important thing here is to pick not only something that is true, but something you like. In fact, you don’t really want to say you work somewhere if you really wanted to change your career!

A simple example can be ‘My name is _ and I am the most organized person’; also, ‘My zodiac sign is _ and I am the most organized person’ is pretty good. These are just perfect if you feel the need to create more believable affirmations, because your subconscious inherently knows they are true.

DOES LENGTH MATTER?

One of the most common misconceptions I have seen regarding affirmations is certainly that ‘they have to be short and simple, nothing too elaborated‘. If you believe in this limiting belief, you’re probably convinced that adding other sentences to your pre-existing will ‘damage’ your affirmation. Guess what, that’s not the case.

Your subconscious and your mind are always actively working, 24/7; thinking or hearing a longer or shorter sentence won’t make a difference whatsoever – as long as you don’t let it, that is. The subconscious can process 20.000.000 bits of info per second: you really think that a longer sentence could be harder to process for it? Come on, now.

THE TAKEAWAY

Alright, let’s wrap thing up by doing a super quick recap of this article.

To create more believable affirmations for yourself, all you have to do is pick something that is inherently true about yourself, and simply attach it to your pre-made affirmation. For example, ‘My name is _ and I am the most organized person’.

Make sure that whatever you pick is something you like. It can be your name, your parents’ names or anything else.

And that’s it!

♡  Thank you so much for reading! I hope we kept each other company for a while. Have a wonderful day! ♡
