Hey, pretty people!
Here I am once again with a new glow up guide! I have missed doing this type of content, and as soon as I felt inspired I had to go back to it.
I have posted a total of 4 glow up checklists on my blog, but somehow I felt like I could elaborate on the subject some more. That’s why I decided to create this fun, week-long challenge for you to try!
Before jumping straight into the actual post, allow me to make a few disclaimers.
This post in no way, shape or forms aims at telling you that you are not enough, that you are not pretty or that your day-to-day routine needs to change. The mere goal I have here is to push you out of your comfort zone. Even if just a little, and have you try something new and (hopefully) fun.
These are mere suggestions, and you have to take and try only what you feel like it.
That being said, are you finally ready to check out this How To Glow Up In One Week challenge?
Let’s get started!

DO YOUR NAILS
You don’t have to go get a manicure per se. You don’t even have to paint your nails at all if you don’t feel like it!
All you need to do is soak your hands in soapy warm water for a while, then push back your cuticles and wear a clear nail polish (if you want). This may look simple and insignificant, but it will make you look and feel a lot more put-together!
HAIRCARE 3 TIMES A WEEK
I have no doubt that you all take good care of your hygiene, I am not suggesting anything different. However, why not take it a step further? Why not invest in just one high quality item to implement in your haircare?
It may be a shampoo or a mask, you get to pick. You don’t have to pick something that is way over your budget, just something to make you feel fancy while using it. And something that actually works for your hair, of course!

SHOWER, EXFOLIANT, MOISTURIZER AND PERFUME ROUTINE
Once again, I am not trying to insult your hygiene, just barely providing a few suggestions.
Showering everyday is, quite obviously, the most effective way to ensure you’re maintaining a good body hygiene. Moisturizing and spraying on some perfume are just a way to feel nice and fancy. Also, I wholeheartedly recommend moisturizing while your skin is still wet, and wearing perfume immediately after. You’ll smell divine and for much, much longer.
I personally exfoliate 3 times a week, sometimes even less than that; this is entirely up to you!
DO YOUR SKINCARE EVERY MORNING AND NIGHT
I promise you that you don’t have to go out and buy 17 products to create an efficient skincare routine. In fact, you’ll only need 3!
I would recommend going for a toner, a good spf and a moisturizer; that’s it! You really don’t want to skip your spf, that’s the most essential part!
REMOVE YOUR MAKEUP AND WASH YOUR FACE
Going to sleep with your makeup on is not only quite uncomfortable, but will also prevent your skin from breathing and repairing itself throughout the night. You really don’t want to do that!
Always remove your makeup before going to sleep, and wash your face every morning and night. As simple as it may seem, this will make a huge difference in your skin’s health!
LIPCARE EVERY NIGHT
Exfoliating and moisturizing your lips every night will become a permanent step in your nighttime routine after you try it!
You’ll start to see actual results the morning after, and it will quickly become second nature to you; you can click here to check out how to make The Ultimate DIY Lip Scrub at home!
BRUSH TEETH + WHITEN THEM
I am sure you all brush your teeth at least twice a day. However, I would also recommend investing in a teeth whitener!
You can usually bag one for a cheap price, and they will last you a considerable amount of time. Plus, you should see results fairly quickly!
SPRAY PERFUME ON CLOTHES
It’s perfect if you don’t want to waste too much of your favorite perfume, and will make its effects last a bit longer.
You can either spray your fragrance on the clothes you are going to wear that day, or just spray on all of the clothes in your wardrobe. The latter method is perfect if you have a signature scent you always wear!
ORGANIZE OUTFITS DURING THE WEEKEND
If one of your goals is to be more organized, it’s a huge first step in the right direction!
Organizing your outfits for the week and piling all of the items together allows you to be more efficient throughout your morning routine. Moreover, it could be a great way to keep your closet neat and perfectly arranged, too!
DRINK 8 GLASSES OF WATER EVERYDAY
Hydrating yourself is incredibly important, and not something you want to skip.
The recommended amount of water you should drink daily weighs around half a gallon (2L), but that estimation may vary if we take a number of factors in consideration; I found this interesting article about how much water you should drink daily a while back, and I definitely think it could help you as well!
DRINK WARM LEMON WATER AND GREEN TEA
They’re not only perfect to promote weight loss and a better digestion, but make your skin look nice and bright as well!
EAT HEALTHIER
I am not trying to sound patronizing, controlling or even annoying. You don’t have to do a whole 180 with your diet, and if you feel like there is nothing you need to change – don’t change anything!
Eating healthier simply means adding more fruit, vegetables and lean proteins (white meat, for example) to your diet. Also, this doesn’t mean you should eat anything unhealthy ever again. Moderation is key, so don’t be too hard on yourself; the 20/80 rule is the perfect example of this principle. You can find a detailed article about it here, and I also talked about it in my How To Glow Up In 10 Days post.
NEVER SKIP BREAKFAST AND DO SOME MEAL PREP
Skipping breakfast isn’t a really smart idea. Your brain needs food to work at its best potential, and you need to face the morning with the right energy.
Doing meal prep the night before is a great way not to rush in the morning. However, another way to go about it is plan your meals a few days before. This way you’ll most likely have some time to spare and do whatever you please!
30 MINUTES MOVEMENT EVERYDAY
Now, I am not saying you should go out and get a gym membership if that’s not what you want. You can complete light or even intense workouts from the comfort of your home, or garden, or wherever you please. How? With YouTube!
You’ll find a million different routines, from cardio to strength training, and you won’t even have to pay to follow them! You can just do something light and fun, or really push yourself and go full Chloe Ting. It’s all up to you!
GET 8 HOURS OF SLEEP/GO TO BED BEFORE 11-11:30
This may sound patronizing, but I really do know not everybody can follow up to this; I 100% understand. On the other hand, if you ever find yourself having a night when you can try and go to sleep earlier and get some more sleep, I wholeheartedly encourage you to do so.
Your mind and body will thank you for it!
CLEAN AND ORGANIZE YOUR ROOM (OR HOUSE) IN THE WEEKEND
Now, I don’t mean to sacrifice your entire weekend dusting off shelves and cleaning out your fridge. You’re entitled to your fun!
However, maybe you have a few drawers that are full of things you don’t even remember having, or perhaps you have been putting off throwing away something. This happens to everybody, our lives are so chaotic, sometimes it is downright impossible to get on top of everything.
Remember, even cleaning out and organizing a bookshelf is quite amazing in terms of progress and organization!
HAVE HOMEWORK/PAPERS/WORK ASSIGNMENTS ALWAYS IN CHECK
I absolutely don’t mean to tell you how you should be studying or go about your work. The only thing I am suggesting is to prioritize school and work (but don’t put them above your health, either mental or physical!) so that you won’t be reduced at doing it in the middle of the night.
Sure, sometimes certain assignments take much longer and much more work than others. Just do your best to stay on top of everything!
STEP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE AND TRY SOMETHING NEW
This doesn’t have to be a completely 180 on your life. Just following a drawing tutorial on YouTube or going out to see a movie could be it, for you!
You can pick something small, and pick out one day to try it; this will give you a little serotonin boost, and we all need that from time to time!
MAKE PINTEREST BOARDS FOR YOUR INTERESTS
Pinterest is my #1 favorite social media, without question; you can find anything you want there, and it’s 100% free.
You can save pictures and videos in different boards, and you can create a board for any interest you have. Makeup looks you want to experiment, outfits that inspire you, movies you want to see, workout routines you want to try.
It’s a pretty quick and effortless way to explore the confines of your comfort zone, too!
MAKE HYPE PLAYLISTS
I will never get tired of advocating the benefits of a hype playlist to get ready to in the morning. Give it a go for yourself to see the magic behind it.
I also like to make random playlists to go places, even if it’s just the grocery stor. This is a simple way to implement some fun in your daily routine, and music is good for the soul. Also, you can find some pre-made playlists on YouTube or Spotify for all your needs (studying, falling asleep, reading).
FAKE CONFIDENCE
Rihanna has told us to fake it until we make it, and we all know she was right. Confidence is magnetic and entrancing, and it doesn’t have to be real to transform us in a totally different person. And a confidence shift is the ultimate power move when it comes to how to glow up!
If you’re looking for more practical tips on how to fake confidence, allow me to provide you with a couple of articles I quite enjoyed reading; this one will give you a total of 9 interesting tips, while this one by The Guardian is even more practical with its 6 advices.
DO YOUR BEST – THAT’S ALL YOU CAN DO
Lastly in this How To Glow Up article, I wanted to close on a bit of a cheesy line (like I always do with these articles).
Doing your best doesn’t absolutely mean working yourself to the bone, neglecting family and friends and letting your health (both mental and physical, once again) decline. Doing your best means working at the best of your abilities in this moment. If you do that, then you should be proud of yourself. Even if you make mistakes along the way!
Everything is a lesson, and doing your very best is the only way to try and keep regrets at bay – and we all have way too many of those, no matter the circumstances.
♡ Thank you so much for reading! I hope we kept each other company for a while. Have a wonderful day! ♡
