I am sure that you have already seen a cut crease stamp video on either Instagram or Pinterest. It definitely is one of the most interesting products I have seen as of lately, and it would surely make eye looks a lot easier!
The idea of trying it out instantly intrigued me, but the truth is that I did not find any european sellers when I firstly came across the product.
I know it may not seem like the end of the world for you, but that’s because you don’t know how the Italian customs work. I have had an awful experience with my only Colourpop order (which ended up being stuck in Italy for 5 MONTHS before it was finally delivered to me). Bare in mind, it only took the package 5 days to get to Italy.
Now, after my rant, let’s talk about the elephant in the room: how can you make your own, DIY Cut Crease Stamp at home?
The process is a lot easier than what you may think, and you already have everything you need. You don’t even need to spend a dime to make it! I also took the liberty to include a few looks I did using my homemade Cut Crease Stamp.
So, are you finally ready to find out how to make your own DIY Cut Crease Stamp?
Let’s get started!
Alright, before jumping into the ‘how to’ part, let me just break down how to pick your own stamp.
Firstly, you want to look for the most optimal shape for your eyes.; I would recommend picking something that holds an elliptical shape, or something similar at the very least.
Another aspect you want to keep in mind is to use something that is either flat or vaguely curved. This way it will be easier to use on the eye, and will naturally follow your shape. Moreover, be mindful or harsh edges when picking your stamp!
I personally used the cap of the High-Adherence Silicone Primer by The Ordinary. It fits my eye shape well, and does work quite well for me. I haven’t really experimented with any other product, but I would love to hear from you in the comments; which products did you end up experimenting with?
Once you have picked your Cut Crease Stamp, it’s time to sanitize it; this part is incredibly important, and I definitely encourage you to take your time with this step. Since you are going to place the stamp directly on your eye, you want to make sure you’re working with a clean product.
A tip I have for you is not to use a lot of product. You want to pick up barely enough formula to sketch it down on the stamp.
I usually place some formulation on the back of my hand, then pick it up with a flat brush to lay it down. Too much formulation would only end up messing up your look, while having too little would always guarantee you the possibility to build it up.
I recommend stamping the product slowly on, and not to press too much; remember you are working on your eyes, which are an incredibly sensitive part of your body.
Lastly, make sure to always clean up your stamp after using it (or even at the end of the day), and always sanitize it before using it.
And there you have it! This is how you can make your own DIY Cut Crease Stamp at home, without spending a dime!
