It’s been a hot minute now ever since posted a DIY Beauty product. Makeup-related content has been consuming my attention lately, and I have also started working on more projects related to my blog.
I took it upon myself to post a DIY Beauty product once I was sure of its value, which is why I waited so long.
However, I must say I find this DIY project incredibly interesting!
I am sure you may be thinking there is no possible way you can create your own DIY Almond Oil at home; well, the truth is that you actually can!
The crafting process is definitely a lengthy one, and you definitely have to arm yourself with an awful lot of patience. It isn’t an overly complicated method, and the ingredients you’ll need are pretty cheap as well.
Moreover, I am fairly sure you already own most of them!
So, are you finally ready to find out how to make your own DIY Almond Oil at home?
Let’s get started!
Before jumping straight into the crafting process, let me just give you a couple of heads up.
I would recommend NOT picking toasted almonds. It would not only mess up the final consistency of the product, but could potentially add a weird fragrance to your oil.
Lastly, let me just spend a couple of words on Vitamin E Oil. This ingredient can act as a preservative for your beauty products, but don’t sweat if you don’t have it at home; you could potentially omit it altogether, but make sure to keep a close eye on the final product. Truthfully, you should keep an eye on it regardless!
Firstly, you want to put your almonds in the blender; start mixing them at the slowest speed, and gradually increase the speed.
Now, the annoying part: continuing on blending the almonds. This process is going to be long and annoying, but it truly is something necessary to do. You want the almonds to be reduced to a creamy paste, cleaning the sides of the blender from time to time.
If you really wanted to make sure the almonds are properly blended, you could proceed by mixing small amounts at a time. This will make the crafting process even longer, though.
Once you have a creamy paste to work with, you can add a tablespoon of olive oil to it. You definitely want to keep mixing, but make sure you always have a smooth, creamy and slightly liquid consistency. If the almonds turn tough, add another tablespoon of olive oil; one of two tablespoons in total should be more than enough.
As soon as you have your mixture ready, pour it into a jar and allow it to rest in a dry place for two weeks. Make sure the jar is tightly closed!
By two weeks, you will see that the oil and the cream have finally separated; needless to say, you want to strain and keep the oil.
And your DIY Almond Oil is all ready to go!
