My Top 3 Favorite Drugstore Products For Oily Skin | Oily Skin Makeup

Hey, pretty people!

Makeup and oily skin can be quite the tricky combination, I’ll tell you that!

Every single skin type out there needs and deserves love and attention, and oily skin is no different. Although the oil production serves in preserving the skin, it’s not exactly ideal when it comes to makeup. That’s especially true if you’re into a full-face look!

Sure, the makeup market is constantly growing and expanding, and that’s the beauty of it. You can find something for basically anyone, and address any possible concerns. However, it can be a little difficult to find the perfect combination of products to use. Especially if you aim at a more budget-friendly haul!

However, it would be dishonest to say that there are no options at all. The drugstore is as a valid place as any to find some good makeup products, and that’s what we’re going to talk about today.

In this post, I am going to share with you 3 of my favorite drugstore solutions when it comes to oily skin.

I have decided to feature a foundation, a primer and, lastly, a powder. They will be enough for you to create a full face in one go! Also, they all come from the cheapest (yet most dependable) brands you can find. It’s a win-win scenario for everybody!

You can find all of them over at Beauty Bay (this is NOT a sponsored post – I just use this site for basically all of my makeup-related buys).

So, are you ready to find out which drugstore products I 100% recommend for oily skin?

Let’s get started!

PHOTOFOCUS MATTE FOUNDATION by Wet N Wild

As much as I love its dewy counterpart, I have to say this foundation is one of my most favorites when it comes to a mattifying effect.

It comes in your regular 30ml (1 fl. Oz) format, no surprises here. It also has a plastic applicator that easily allows you to pick up the product and deposit it on your face or a palette. Moreover, it comes in a pretty good variety of skin tones, which is always a nice bonus.

It has a pretty good coverage and pigmentation; however, it’s probably not your cup of tea if you prefer a more natural finish. It’s not completely full coverage though, so you can easily build it up to your liking.

It dries down nicely, but can create a bit of texture if you use too much too quickly. Remember to build it up little by little, so you can enjoy a better coverage without a cakey finish.

It’s definitely one of my favorite products when it comes to oily skin! It helps retain oil production for longer, although it does benefit from the support of a powder and setting spray. It truly is a good product in my opinion, and it deserves more love!

PORELESS PUTTY PRIMER by e.l.f. Cosmetics

I think we all agree on the basic principle that e.l.f. is one of the best drugstore brands out there. We should, at least!

They have come out with incredibly high quality products the past few years, and the Poreless Putty Primer is just the tip of the iceberg. It helped kick off a whole series of putty formulas, and is constantly one of their best-selling items – truly an icon in makeup form!

This formula definitely is an interesting one to work with, and is much more compact than what you may think. It comes in a pale pink shade, and feels silky once applied to the skin.

It’s also much more hydrating than what I was expecting, which is especially good if you plan to do a full face. Having a slightly more hydrating base, even if you oily skin, is always beneficial since makeup can dry out your skin a great deal.

That being said, I have to say this primer is amazing at concealing large pores and texture in general. The application is quite easy, and since the formula practically glides on the skin and creates the perfectly smooth canvas you need for makeup.

Truly couldn’t recommend it more!

PRO BASE FULL COVERAGE MATTE PRESSED POWDER by MUA Makeup Academy

Lastly, allow me to talk about the product that deserves the most love and recognition out of these 3.

This powder is one of the best products I have ever tried, and I am beyond saddened that I ended up finishing it. I am literally scraping off the remains from its container, and mostly using it to set my eye primer and under-eye concealer now.

The Pro Base Pressed Powder is my secret weapon when it comes to having a makeup look last all day, and if you have ever tried it you’d know why. It will hold down the appearance of shine and oil for (almost) the entire day!

It’s one of the cheapest powders on the market, and comes in a good variety of shades. What more can you ask of it?

One thing to note is that it does dry out the skin a little bit; it’s important to build it up slowly, to avoid an unpleasant texturized finish.

On the flip side, it’s literally my favorite product for oily skin!

♡  Thank you so much for reading! I hope we kept each other company for a while. Have a wonderful day! ♡
