It’s been a while ever since Taylor Swift has announced (and commenced!) her very own Eras Tour, and the whole world has been taken by storm!
The Eras Tour is a deep dive into each one of the Tennesse-native singer albums, from her debut to the most recent one, Midnights. It’s definitely an ambitious notion for a musical exhibition, but in true Taylor fashion she has been more than capable to pull it off.
Quite recently, the dates for her Europe tour have been announced, and as you probably can guess, I am beyond excited for it!
In light of this excitement, I have decided to give you some outfit inspo for each of the albums featured!
In this new column of my blog, we’ll do a deep dive into the aesthetic of each album, from debut to Midnights; we won’t be talking about the actual music, just the aesthetic and fashion aspect.
Moreover, I’ll also add 10 outfits inspo for each piece!
So, are you ready to find some fashion inspo with this deep dive into Taylor Swift’s debut album fashion?
Let’s go!
Of course, before we *actually* begin talking about fashion, we need to discuss the album.
Taylor Swift’s debut album was simply called ‘Taylor Swift’ and came out in 2006. She co-wrote 11 of the songs, with 5 of them ending up as singles, and the album was nominated for Album of the Year. Taylor was also nominated for a Grammy for it (Best New Artist!).
This album is quite a country one, and it’s so interesting to go back to it in light of Taylor’s music evolution!
Although not a fully country vibe runs through this particular anthology, that’s what the overall aesthetic is based off. Like I said before, it’s quite unique to hear and see, and I definitely encourage you to go back to it to experience it again!
You can listen to the album here.
Alright, now that we have a general rundown of the album, it’s time to finally talk about the aesthetic of it!
This record has a particularly unique cottagecore vibe to it, which perfectly pairs with the country feel of the songs. Although it does manage to cut out its own ‘study of beauty’, this album feels like a proper melange of the previous two styles.
Clothing is something quite personal, as we all have our own distinctive taste and style. I am not suggesting you should follow what I’m telling you word for word if it’s not your vibe!
That being said, there are a couple of key pieces that wonderfully incapsulate the feel of the record.
A long, flowy, white dress is a great place to start!
It’s one of the most recurring items when it comes to this aesthetic, and a pretty versitile one as that. It pairs well with almost everything, and it’s the perfect in-between choice when it comes to elegant yet relaxed style.
Generally, any flowy dress fits this vibe quite well (we’ll discuss colors and patterns in the following part)!
The ultimate piece of clothing, jeans go well with everything and can be worn for (almost) anything.
You don’t have to stick to pants only – a jeans vest or jacket also fit the aesthetic marvellously.
I guess we don’t really need to go into these ones too deep, huh?
They’re quite a recurrent item in Taylor’s videos, and they declinate the whole style in a flawless manner, if you ask me.
Like we mentioned before, this whole album has a big cottagecore/country vibe to it. Needless to say, that perfectly translates into the look of the clothes, too!
In true cottagecore style, flowers are a big part of this particular fashion wave.
Daisies and sunflowers are the most popular choices, but wild flowers work perfectly here as well.
I noticed quite a bit of natural elements when it came to this debut record, and butterflies did seem like a pretty common denominator in quite a few outfits.
They do tie nicely with the whole country theme, and they do add an almost ethereal fairy vibe.
Like we just said, the natural element is always more than welcome in this aesthetic – particularly flowers and butterflies.
There is a little plaid here and there, but it’s not that recurrent. Generally, there aren’t that many patterns and designs that aren’t related to the nature (flowers, plants, cute insects like butteflies).
There are 3 main colors when it comes to this Taylor Swift debut record, being white, light blue and green (both in its pastel and richer version).
Along with these 3, we also have a bit of beige and light brown.
