For this second article about Taylor Swift outfits, we’re going to talk about Fearless!
This is Taylor’s second album, and one that gave us major hits like ‘Love Story‘ and ‘You Belong With Me‘, among others. I have already dived into her debut album here, if you’re interested!
The singer has recently re-recorder this entire album, in 2021, and you can listen to it here.
In this article we’ll examine Fearless’ aesthetic to the bone, and we’ll see exactly how to work it into your outfits. I also included 10 outfits to get inspired by!
So, are you ready to find out everything you need to know about this album’s aesthetic?
Let’s get started!
I am no music expert, so I won’t give you any technical opinions or anything like that, don’t worry. However, we do need to know a little bit about the music before diving deep into the fashion part!
Fearless came out in late 2008, and much like Taylor’s debut album it has a good country-pop sound to it. With a total of 5 singles to it, the most prominent themes of the work are love, heartbreak and ambition.
Again, you can listen to the full album here!
Now that you have a general idea of the album, it’s time to get more practical about its fashion reindition!
Given the themes and the sound of Fearless, I can’t help but associate it with the Romantic Academia aesthetic. On the other hand, I do feel like there is a subtle Cottagecore vein running through this style.
Clothing is something quite personal, as we all have our own distinctive taste and style. I am not suggesting you should follow what I’m telling you word for word if it’s not your vibe!
That being said, there are a couple of key pieces that wonderfully incapsulate the feel of the record.
It might feel like déjà-vu if you’ve read my article about Taylor Swift debut aesthetic, but the Cottagecore aesthetic does run deep in both.
A long, flowy white dress is a must when it comes to building your Fearless wardrobe, much like the one Taylor is wearing in the album’s cover (or is it a shirt?).
Flowy pieces in general are a big yes, although pants aren’t really all that popular here.
Big, poofy sleeves and shirts in general are a pillar of this aesthetic, and skirts can play a great role as well.
Like we mentioned before, this whole album has a big romantic/Cottagecore vibe to it. Needless to say, that perfectly translates into the look of the clothes, too!
These are the two shades that perfectly embody Fearless – and the ones to look into when building your outfits.
When it comes to the yellow hue, you don’t have to stick to only one shade of yellow; in fact, the entirety of the spectrum is included here! Brown is also a welcomed color.
Since this aesthetic plays a key role in the rendition of this album’s fashion, we’ll examine a few elements that perfectly embody it.
Bows are a good place to start building your Romantic Academia outfit, since they properly embody the dreamy side of the style. Other elements you can look into are hearts (of course!) and stars.
When it comes to blending Romantic Academia and Cottagecore together, you might want to look into flower and plants as designs and patterns, like we discussed for the debut album.
The sparkle element translates to glitter and sparkly dresses (one might even say Bejeweled), and other sparkling elements like gold accessories of any sort.
