I adore this album, so I am quite pleased we have reached this point of the series. It’s also my current #1 choice to represent at the Eras Tour (it’s actually a tie between this and Reputation)!

THE ALBUM

Lover does a complete 180 from the darker vibe of Reputation, with a much ‘lighter’ sound and aesthetic.

It’s a good collection of electro-pop, synth-pop and pop rock, with the general theme being ‘a love letter to love’. I mean, no real surprises here!

The singles that came out of this album are: Lover, You Need To Calm Down, Me!, The Man and Cruel Summer. Still kinda bummed that Miss Americana And The Heartbreak Prince didn’t make the cut, but that’s ok.

THE AESTHETIC

Well, the name pretty much gives it all away!

Lover’s aesthetic reminds me quite a bit of Barbie by Greta Gerwig. It’s full of pink and blue hues, from more pastel hues to much brighter ones.

THE COLORS

Like we just discussed, the main hues of this aesthetic are pink and blue – as you can probably gather just by looking at the cover.

Although pastels make up a huge chunk of the shades you can use to create your Lover outfit, bright ones have proven to be just as much as a fan favorite. That’s precisely why this aesthetic reminds me so much of the most recent Barbie movie!

Besides your regular pink and blue, red is also quite a fitting choice to implement in your outfits. The record is named Lover, after all!

THE SYMBOLS

Again, I am sure it will come as no surprise to see that hearts are a great pick in this scenario!

Besides the obvious, other prominent symbols for this aesthetic are butterflies, clouds, and quite literally anything that seems cute and dainty. Also, flowers, plants – anything at all!

Stripes and checkered prints can be an integral part of Lover’s fashion, however their pastel version is a more favored choice rather than brighter ones.
