Reputation is my favorite Taylor Swift album, so you can probably guess how excited I am about this article!
If you’re a Swiftie, you may know how much controversy and hurt this record carries with it. If you’re not familiar with it, I will redirect you to this explanation about her ‘feud’ with Scooter Braun; also, this is another run-down of everything that happened with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.
At the time of writing this article, Taylor has not yet announced a re-release of this album. However, you can listen to the original version here!
In this article we’ll examine Reputation aesthetic to the bone, and we’ll see exactly how to work it into your outfits. I also included 10 outfits inspo for you!
So, are you ready to find out everything you need to know about this record’s aesthetic and, most importantly, see some Reputation outfit inspo?
Let’s jump right in!
Reputation is Taylor’s sixth album, and a fully electropop one.
This record is actually ‘divided’ into two parts; one side for drama and revenge, and the other which is more focused on friendship and love. Fun fact: the inspiration for this audio compilation was Game of Thrones!
Six singles came from Reputation: Look What You Made Me Do, …Ready For It?, End Game, New Year’s Day, Getaway Car and Delicate. Will forever be mad that Don’t Blame Me and Call It What You Want weren’t included.
I remember when Look What You Made Me Do came out – it was a lyrics video that my friend and I listened on repeat while we were on vacation with other friends of ours. That day was raining, which seemed to be very fitting!
Again, you can listen to Reputation here.
I didn’t really want to bring drama into this – but let’s be real, this is Reputation we’re talking about!
The whole aesthetic of the album originates from dark hues, and more badass, risqué-type clothing. Let’s dive a little deeper into it!
Since dark shades are the star of this aesthetic, you won’t be surprised to know that black is, in fact, the most popular color here!
Other popular choices are dark green and maroon (wink wink), but it’s safe to say that black is the center of attention.
Following the fallout with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, fans of the rapper and his wife started leaving snake emojis under all of Taylor’s pictures on social media. Ever since then, snakes have become a core element of this aesthetic!
Snake prints are a great choice for clothes, although snakes in accessories (like rings, necklaces, earrings) are also quite a beloved option by Swifties.
Like you probably saw from the cover of the record, the newspaper theme is quite an interesting one in this aesthetic.
I find it to be quite a fun one to play around with – not only in terms of Reputation, but in general!
Latex is a great choice if you aim at representing Reputation at the Eras Tour!
It gives that sexy vibe to the outfit, all the while keeping it badass.
