Every time I decide to work on articles like this, I am afraid I am going to come across condescending. Even worse, I fear people will see this as a sort of personal attack. Honestly, that couldn’t be further from my intent!
The aim of these kinds of posts is to provide interesting tips and hacks for you to work with, and nothing more. I have no doubt you are more than capable of taking care of your hygiene – I am not trying to suggest otherwise.
Whenever I am checking out fragrances online, I always stumble upon reviews that state that one of my favorite perfumes does not last long. Like, at all. In fact, they claim that it vanished in barely a couple of hours.
I am often baffled by these opinions, to be honest with you. The reason being that most of the time the fragrances in question perform better than I could possibly imagine.
We all know perfumes react differently based on our skin’s pH levels and chemistry; there’s no secret here. However, there could be a couple of ways to prolong the life of your fragrance – even if it’s cheap.
In this hygiene and perfume guide, I am going to share with you 3 articles I have published in the past. These posts are going to transform your scent game from a weak to a strong one!
And don’t worry: you won’t need to spend a ton of money on different hygiene products or fragrances. You’ll easily find what you’re looking for at the drugstore!
So, are you ready to build your own Ultimate Hygiene and Perfume Guide?
Let’s get started!
We’re kicking off this list with the most obvious post; a hygiene guide.
Hygiene is, of course, the starting point of your routine, and the key to keep smelling good for the entire day – or the majority of it, at the very least.
Your hygiene routine creates the perfect canvas for your perfume to stick to. More generally, it’s one of the most important parts of your day!
Getting rid of dead skin cells that accumulate on your body and moisturizing your skin thoroughly will not only make a big impact on your skin’s texture and appearance, but will help your scent last longer throughout the day. Taking care of your hygiene is also the decent thing to do, let’s be real!
You can take a look at the complete guide How To Layer Hygiene Products here.
I want to reiterate that you don’t have to spend exorbitant amounts of money on perfumes. At least, if that’s not what you want to do!
Everybody should dispose of their income however they please, and I am not here to critique your choices. However, I will say this: you don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars to find a decent perfume! There are tons of cheap dupe fragrances out there, and a quick search on TikTok, Pinterest and Instagram will tell you that.
Allow me to make another point. I am a little tired of people bashing cheap dupes for the sole reason they’re less expensive – give them an actual shot, at least! There are quite a few good-quality yet inexpensive fragrances out there, there’s no reason to degrade them before trying them.
Rant aside, I have to say there are multiple fun ways for you to apply your perfume and have it last all day. Your hygiene routine should be the #1 priority of course, but spraying your bedding or hairbrush can be compelling methods to apply, too!
You can take a look at my How To Smell Like A Snack guide here!
We have reached the end of this hygiene and perfume guide, so here’s an unconventional tip I have for you.
There is a quick and simple trick you can use to boost your fragrance a great deal. The best part about it is that it’s a product you can craft yourself. You most likely already own all the ingredients needed, too! However, if you don’t have them on hand, you’ll be pleased to find out they’re all quite cheap and easy to come by!
Now, have you ever tried using a scented body oil before applying your perfume? It’s literally the only trick you’re not using to boost your fragrance!
To craft the perfect body oil for you, you’ll simply need to take a look at your chosen fragrance’s notes beforehand. From there, you’ll pick on of those. Once you have a clear picture, pick an essential oil accordingly. For instance, if I wanted to make a body oil to use with ‘Good Girl‘ by Carolina Herrera, I would pick a vanilla or jasmine essential oil. Now that you have your essential oil, mix it with a carrier oil of choice. And your DIY Body Oil is all ready to go!
